The
Big Island
The Big Island is twice the size of
all other islands combined and is still growing. It's population is
148,725 ,4028 square miles. Hilo on the East side is the County Seat and
the largest City with a population of around 50,000 people. Kailua-Kona
on the West side has many major Hotels and resorts. The world's most
active volcano, Kilauea, is located on the Big Island and has been
flowing lava since 1983. That is why the Big Island is constantly
growing.
